Izh 412

 And here is a very fine specimen of the Izh 412 (Moskvitch-412) car.

With a pair of yellow fog lights too!

The Izh 412 is the Moskvitch 412 model but produced by Izh at its Izhevsk plant, rather than by the Moskvitch factory in Moscow.

The Izh-412 is a small family car produced by IZh in Izhevsk from 1967 to 1982 (also known as Izh-412), a near total copy of the Moskvitch 412.

This one is a pre-1969 mode, and don't you just love the fascia!

It has running lights on the C pillar too.

Volga GAZ-21 Third Series

Here is another fine, if a bit dusty (hey but at least, it's a runner), Volga GAZ-21 Third Series!

The unique car spotting counting system that I set up for this blog using labels suggests that this specimen is already the No. 13 Third Series Volga GAZ-21 sighted and documented on the blog!

What's more, this one looks like a moving art installation.

Also, check out the white walls and the red wheels with chromium hobs.

 Here is a 1972 ZAZ 968А Zaporozhets, in production for almost 20 years, 1972-94.

 Here is an Izh-21251 Kombi compact hatchback car.

The Izh-21251 is a post-1982 upgrade of the Izh-2125 said to be the first Soviet hatchback.

This is a street racer edition.

Amazingly it's only the first Volga 3102 on the blog.

The Volga GAZ-3102 was in production from 1982 to 2010.

BAW Fenix

For completion's sake, and also to continue exploration of China car and truck, here is a BAW Fenix truck which is I believe is the first recorded sighting on this blog.

The Fenix aka Qiling is apparently based on the Isuzu N series.

Moskvitch-402

 Here is a Moskvitch-402 with a very early grille that never made it into mass production.

As you can see, it's not a proper sighting but rather some copy photography of exhibits at an art installation dedicated to the car at Moscow's North River Terminal that was visited last month.

The time is the early 1950s and the venue is in front of the North River Terminal in Moscow; and here is what it looks like today after a recent renovation.

The early and quite menacing grille that was not seen when mass production of the car started in earnest in the late 1950s through 1960s.

In fact, in some ways it is similar to that of the Opel Olympia Rekord.
