Lada VAZ-2105 Traffic Police

Seen in April of this year aka 2015 was this Lada VAZ-2105 Traffic Police specs.

Classic Ladas are still used as traffic and criminal (in more senses than one) police cars here in Moscow and elsewhere in Russia.

I am not sure if they are special versions, which were known to exist in Soviet times and sometimes packed more powerful engines making their humble appearances deceptive, or if they are just regular cars in traffic police livery which now seems to be blue on white in Russia (certainly in Moscow), although used to be blue on yellow.

They are not very fast cars but can maneuver into some real tight places.

By way of bonus, here's a whole bunch of old AvtoVAZ press photos of the Lada VAZ-2105; some of which were initially and until not very long ago posted on their site - Lada.ru (but not anymore).

Very nice on a white background, also check out -  it has headlight wipers and presumably sprinkles! Because it will do no good to dry-wipe a headlight lens.

This white one is from the early 2000s already, with an injector unit, and not an earlier carburetor model.

The Lada VAZ-2105 is an 1980s redesign of the Lada VAZ-2101... but lasted well into the 2000s.
And I personally think they would continue to sell well even today if only they kept making them.
I would buy one.

Headlight wipers again.

And here too.

The earlier Lada 2105 was also known as Lada 1200s in some foreign markets.

...and as the Lada Riva.

Beautiful dash! No tachometer either, a true gearhead doesn't need one, he can sense the revs.

Spare.

The prime mover.
