Oka # 5

Here is the number 5 Oka since start of blog.

Serving as a stationary ad board advertising some Georgian cuisine restaurant.

The logo points to its being a SeAZ-1111 rather than a VAZ-1111

Oka # 5

Here is another Oka supermini car.

Except this one serves as a stationary billboard advertising a Georgian cuisine restaurant.

The manufacturer's emblem on the right of the grille (left of the picture) shows that the car is not a VAZ-1111 Oka but a SeAZ-1111 Oka so now you know.

Oka VAZ-1111

Today's car is this Oka VAZ-1111 spotted last summer (2015).

So far on this blog we have already seen this Oka and now another one.

I am partial to this little car as my mother used to have one and I wanted to have one myself.

The Oka VAZ-1111 was  produced by AvtoVAZ (maker of Ladas) in 1998-1994 and by SeAZ and ZMA in 1988-2005.

This is a super compact car, a city car.

It was very popular, and its popularity is confirmed by fact that there are still plenty of them on the road 11 years after production ended.

Here are some former press photos of the Oka.

And these three photos below show Oka's last facelift as produced by SeAZ (Serpukhov Auto Plant) circa 2004-5.

By that time it had acquired a China-sourced engine (itself based on some Toyota motor).

And a test drive in Russian of the last restyled Oka model.
