ZAZ-965 1/2

Here is a half of a ZAZ-965.

In fact, it's even less than half.

ZAZ-965 Zaporozhets

Here is a ZAZ 965 Zaporozhets seen recently at a retro motors show.

This is the first of the ZAZ models which were city super-mini cars, rear-wheel drive, air-cooled with motor in the back.

ZAZ Cars

Another intermission presenting cars not spotted on the street per se but at a car exhibition / show. Re-blogging from my other blog and continuing verbatim...

Another car show at Moscow's VDNKh -- Cars of Our Back Yard -- USSR cars.

Not the first car-themed show I saw at the location -- in August last year we saw Car Industry of the USSR.

But that time I was lazy to make too many photos. This time however I made over 200!

So it is in parts.

Part 1 - the Moskvitch -- is here -- Part 1 Moskvitch Cars.

And now I present Part 2 -- ZAZ cars - Zaporozhets.

All Zaporozhets, except the very last one called Tavria, were small rear-engined, rear wheel drive cars, air-cooled.

1960 ZAZ 965, 1960-69, the first Zaporozhets (Zaporozhets is a local version of the Cossack).

The organizers claim its 965 and the fascia certainly corresponds.

Unusual color, though.

1962 ZAZ 965A, 1962-69

For some reason they are missing the side moldings like on this one.
