Toyota Crown

Long time no see for Toyota Crown but here is one, forget which gen though, too lazy to look up.

Okay, looks like it's a pre-facelifted 8th Gen Toyota Crown

Toyota Crown x 2

Here are two Toyota Crowns sighted last year.

Not a rare sight by any means even though a JDM model, and not the first on this blog either.

The first one is an 11th Generation Toyota Crown Estate Athlete, S-170 Model 1999-2003.

The Toyota Crown is a JDM only full-size entry-luxury car but at least one past generation was billed by Toyota as the most luxurious vehicle in the world, if I am not mistaken.

The Toyota Crown is also known for continuing in production for over 60 years (60th anniversary in 2015) and 14 generations) which is the longest for any Toyota model.

10-Gen Toyota Crown Hardtop

Winter is over but winter car sightings remain to be catalogued on this blog - here is a Toyota Crown sighted this past winter 2017.

By the look of things this one could be a 10-Generation Toyota Crown S-150, Hardop (frameless door window).

They were once very popular here in Russia (not necessary in Moscow) as full-size luxury automobiles which could be had pretty cheaply second-hand off Japan, especially the farther east you went (closer to Japan).

Toyota Crown at 60

Last week Toyota announced a new 60th Anniversary Toyota Crown and released a bunch of press photos.

The Toyota Crown may be the longest Toyota sedan in continuous existence. There have been 13 generations of the car or even 14 if you count the 60th anniversary as a new gen.

Toyota Crowns of the 1980-1990s were very popular here in Russia as used cars brought from Japan.

As I said, the JDM Crown in previous generations (and mostly used) was immensely popular in Russia in late 1980s and 1990s, especially in the Russian Far East.

I think Toyota could achieve major sales if they brought this one to Russia, because Crown love still lingers.

Toyota also released a batch of hi-res pictures of the 2016 Crown.
