The Datsun on-Do is a rebadged and restyled version of the Lada Granta car and has its own VAZ index which is VAZ-2195 which means that it's a Lada VAZ-2195 in AvtoVAZ nomenclature.
They are getting more common here and the one above was seen in a used car lot.
Interestingly Nissan's other Russia Datsun - the Datsun mi-Do is based on a different car - the second-general Lada Kalina which is a very different car (more refined) from the Lada Granta.
And now as per tradition on this blog I am using my editorial privileges and posting some Datsun on-Do promo pictures, picture credit: Nissan.
Looks so strange... I wish it was sold here, if just for curiosity, and to see the Datsun brand come back to life.
ReplyDeleteLooks strange but grows on you. Especially in Datsun Sky Blue. Also its looks are conditioned in the way the Lada Granta looks. I'll say Datsun on-Do looks better than the Lada Granta it's based on, but the 2nd-gen Lada Kalina looks better than the mi-Do.
